In the beginning they started making cassette players back in the 1977. Since then, they have continued to expand their products to fit more vehicles while keeping up with the ever changing technology of the consumer electronics industry. Custom Autosound manufactures three different in-dash replacement radios for classic cars. With each model available there is one to suite your needs be it an AM/FM radio with an auxiliary input with the USA-230, AM/FM cassette radio that’s specific to the USA-1 or, a USB port and Bluetooth technology capability with the USA-630. Most recently, Custom Autosound has released two additional radios, the Slidebar and the USA-740. The USA-740 is the top of the line classic car radio from Custom Autosound and has all of the same features as the USA-630 but the Bluetooth is built into the radio instead of requiring an extra adapter. Also the USA-740 has a subwoofer pre-out and an extra auxiliary jack on the front. The Slidebar has the same features as the USA-630 but adds a subwoofer pre-out and features a false-front, disappearing face that slides away when you move the bar to reveal a modern, digital radio.

The Slidebar Radio is the latest creation in classic car radio technology from Custom Autosound.

In addition to in-dash replacement radios, Custom Autosound created Secretaudio. The Secretaudio systems are perfect for early street rods, hot rods and roadsters that do not have in dash radios, as well as any other classic, muscle car or custom that has still has the original radio or custom dash. Secretaudio is technology which allows you to remotely mount the main component (“the brain”) of the radio underneath the seat, inside the glove box or to optimize space inside the trunk. Regardless of placement you can control the radio using a wired LCD display.

When audio technology progressed and switched from mono to stereos, classic cars were unable to register the complete listening experience due to them only having a single dash speaker. To remedy this sound problem and enable a fuller listening experience, Custom Autosound designed special speakers. Custom Autosound came up with speaker designs that had two 3.5" speakers on a 6x9, 4x10 or 5x7 shaped plate to offer stereo sound out of a single, mono location. They also have developed dual voice coil speakers which have two tweeters, one left, one right in one speaker. This upgraded option gives the listener more mid-range response than two smaller, 3.5" speakers.

Most modern vehicles today have speakers inside the door panel; reason for this design is to offer the listener the best acoustics inside the vehicle. Construction of classic cars and “hot rod” style vehicles did not leave room for additional speakers, but were equipped with plastic kick panels. Innovation from Custom Autosound has given you a simple, cost effective solution to add front speakers to your vehicle, with their speaker kick panels. There are numerous designs for vehicles with and without air conditioning and they also are the only ones with their patented sliding vent so that you can still use the functionality of the fresh air vents.
