How Is the Digital SAT Scored?
While the transition from the paper-and-pencil SAT to the Digital SAT comes with many changes, the scoring system for the latter remains essentially the same as its predecessor. The Digital SAT will be scored on a scale of 400-1600, with 400 being the minimum and 1600 as the maximum.
Your final Digital SAT score will be the sum of the Reading and Writing section score and the Math section score. Each section is further divided into two separately timed adaptive modules. The scores of these modules are added together to get the total section score.

SAT raw score conversion
A raw score is the number of questions you correctly answered on your SAT. There is no penalty for a wrong answer, so guess if you’re unsure of the correct answer. Doing so boosts your chances of getting it right by 25 percent!

On the Digital SAT, keep in mind that the difficulty level of each question and the types of skills it measures are also considered while calculating this score. Students will access questions aligned to their proficiency level on module two of each section. To get a high score overall, aim to get as many questions of all difficulty levels correct.
What are scaled scores?
After your score for each section is calculated, it is converted to a standardized score ranging between 200 - 800. This converted score is known as the scaled score. You get two scaled scores, one for the RW and another for the Math section. The College Board® sets this conversion scale and remains more or less the same yearly. However, there can be some changes depending on the difficulty level of the test. For example, on the Math test, a raw score of 42 can earn you a scaled score of 800 in some test administrations; on the other hand, you might need to answer all 44 questions correctly to receive an 800 on other versions. This method is called “equating" and is a standardized statistical process to ensure the fairness and validity of the exam score.

Digital SAT Score Release Dates 2024-2025
Following the Digital SAT score release dates is a great way to track when your score will be ready to view. You should expect SAT scores to be released two to three weeks after the testing date. How to Get Digital SAT Scores
There are three ways to get your Digital SAT scores:
- Online: The easiest way to access your Digital SAT scores is through the College Board website by logging in to your My SAT account.
- By mail: If you don’t have a College Board account and did your registration via mail, you will automatically receive your scores on paper in the mail.
- By phone: For a fee, you may also receive your scores by phone. You can call (866) 756-7346.

Is the Digital SAT on a 1600 scale?
Yes, the Digital SAT is graded on a scale of 1600. The scores on the Digital SAT mean the same as those on the SAT, so no conversion is necessary. For example, a score of 1150 on the Digital SAT test would be equivalent to an 1150 on the paper and pencil test.
What does the term "Digital SAT percentiles" refer to?
