Frequently Asked Questions

I have a profile and want to delete it. Can I?

The information on our site regarding individual tax accountants is collected from publicly available information and records and will remain on our site and not be removed. If your information on the site is incorrect, please notify us so that we can make appropriate corrections. You may also want to contact your local tax accountant licensing body to ensure that the information that they are publishing in the public record is accurate and current. If you would like to ensure that the data in your ClientWhys profile is up-to-date, you may claim the profile and then edit your biographical details as well as your professional qualifications. Important information such as practice areas, professional achievements, work and academic background can all be edited or added once you have claimed your profile, and you will also have the opportunity to solicit reviews from clients. These reviews will be incorporated into your public profile, and you will be able to access them for posting on your own website.

If you are retired from the profession and would like to have your profile deleted, you may request this by emailing [emailprotected]. Please keep in mind that if your professional information remains publicly available or is published by a professional tax licensing body, your profile may be added back onto our database.

How are negative reviews addressed?

We provide TaxBuzz as a resource that provides a space for open feedback and commentary on tax accountants in our database. We review every comment that is posted to ensure that it is appropriate and complies with the content guidelines set forth in our Terms and Conditions of Use.

If you are a professional who has claimed your listing on our site, you are able to respond directly to reviews, both positive and negative. It has been our experience that a simple, professional response to a negative comment is often the one that is best received by those visiting the site, as they interpret a response to negative feedback as an indication of your interest, engagement and professionalism. Argumentation is not recommended: instead, we suggest a response that acknowledges that the reviewer had a bad experience and suggests that some kind of remediation can take place. An example of an effective response to a bad review would be: "We have read your review and are interested in discussing your issue further. We are dedicated to providing great service, so please contact us to see how we can remedy the situation and provide you with a more satisfactory experience."

Negative reviews are a frustrating fact of our interconnected world, and handling them in a positive manner reflects well on your business, your service, and your professionalism. One of the biggest concerns that we have heard from tax professionals with profiles on our site is that non-clients may leave negative reviews. If you believe that this has happened to you, please let us know so that we can investigate the review. We have a dispute process that involves contacting the reviewer and asking pointed questions about whether they in fact used your service. We also ask if they would like to make any revisions to their review. If they confirm that they were a client and that they want the review to remain as it is (or if they indicate that any changes should be made), then the profile will remain on the site and reflect that.

At TaxBuzz.com, we do not verify the content of the posted reviews. All comments are the sole responsibility of those who post them. ClientWhys, Inc., (DBA TaxBuzz.com) refers our users to Section 230 of Title 47 of the United States Code, which holds that we cannot be held liable for the availability of the site or comments that are posted therein. If you have concerns about content that a reviewer has posted, email us at [emailprotected] and request that a client review undergoes our dispute process. If you would like to strengthen the impact of your profile, we suggest that you solicit reviews from clients past and present. The most recent reviews are placed at the top of the reviews on each individual profile.

Why is a client displaying a non-verified review even though they are in your client list?

When a client leaves you a review they must enter in their first and last name, and email address. What makes a client verified versus non-verified is through his or her email address. The database matches the client with the email address located within your client list. If this email should not match, the client will have a non-verified review despite being in your client list.

Review Guidelines

We welcome and encourage visitors to leave reviews and ratings on TaxBuzz professional profiles.

Please follow the guidelines when leaving your review and rating.

Do not submit reviews that include any of the following:

  • Foul or inappropriate language
  • Content that is not relevant within the context of the TaxBuzz website
  • Content that is unrelated to the services provided by the tax accounting professional
  • Personal attacks and/or offensive comments
  • Spam

If we feel that a submission does not comply with our guidelines and policies, or is generally inappropriate, off-topic, or lacks an appropriate level of detail, it will not be posted on the TaxBuzz website.

We also reserve the right to withhold submissions where suspicious activity or potential conflicts of interest could be present, such as, but not limited to:

  • Reviews from family members
  • Reviews from employees of professional as the Reviewer, even if employee was an actual client of the professional
  • Invalid email address
  • Remarkably high number of submissions by one user using same IP address
  • Remarkably high number of reviews for a professional profile

If TaxBuzz finds that you are helping in the posting of fraudulent reviews or reviews that are not submitted directly to TaxBuzz by a client, or otherwise in violation of these guidelines, TaxBuzz reserves the right to disable your account and terminate any associated promotional programs.
