Create a service offering to define and view the products or applications that make\n up your service in Service Builder.

A service offering represents how a service is provided and who it is for. A service\n must have at least one offering to be published. The workflow guides you to create a\n service offering in a logical order:

  1. Details
  2. Team
  3. Operations
  4. Financials

\n\n

To create a service and service offering, you must be assigned the service_author\n role. To edit (not create) a service or service offering, you must be assigned the\n service_editor role.

  1. \n Navigate to All > Service Portfolio Management > Service Builder.\n
  2. \n To add or edit a service offering, select the service and then click the\n Manage offerings tab.\n
  3. \n To add a new service offering, click New.\n
  4. \n On the form, fill in the fields.\n

FieldDescription
Offering nameUnique name for the offering that associates with the parent\n service.
Consumer typeDefinition of who the offering will be provided for.
Business criticalitySignifies the importance of this offering to business\n operations. The value of this field could be used to trigger\n business logic. For example, your most critical offerings may\n warrant special treatment for disaster recovery.
PhaseThe phase for the offering:
  • Pipeline: The offering is being\n designed and a business case is being created.
  • Catalog: The offering has been\n approved and it is now being designed or is\n operational.
  • Retired: The offering is no\n longer in operation.

Status

Status enables a unique status workflow that enables you to\n track each step of the service offering life cycle.

DescriptionA concise description of the service offering to ensure that\n it makes sense to the end user or consumer of the\n service.

  1. \n Click the Team tab or click Continue to\n Team.\n
  2. \n On the form, fill in the fields.\n

FieldDescription
Owned byPerson accountable for the service offering and can edit the\n service at any time. This person is the service owner. Service\n owners must have the service_author role.
DelegatePerson that can edit the service offering and who can act on\n behalf of the service owner. Delegates must be assigned the\n service_editor role.
Delivery managerPerson responsible for the daily management and delivery of\n the service offering.
Support groupGroup that provides expert support to the service offering.\n This group is usually a level 2 support team.
VendorVendor that may help deliver and support the service\n offering. This field helps show and track accountability for\n service offering delivery.
StakeholdersIndividuals that have a vested interest in the service\n offering.

Selected commitmentsSelect commitments, for example, service level agreements and\n availability commitments. Commitments may be defined in a\n contract for the service offering or based on standards defined\n by your company.
Service level requirementsService level requirements for the service offering.
Active contractActive contract to maintain awareness of the service\n commitments.
Additional contractsSupporting, secondary, or past contracts related to the\n service offering.
Selected catalog itemsCatalog item to track the request activity for all catalog\n items associated with this offering. A single offering can have\n multiple catalog items.
Offerings I depend onOther service offerings that your service offering depends\n on. For example, if another offering experiences an outage, your\n offering availability may be impacted or degraded as a\n result.
Application services I depend onApplication services that the service offering depends\n on.

  2. \n On the form, fill in the fields.\n

FieldDescription
Price modelHow the service offering is to be priced. Your selection\n determines the next field to display.
Price unitIf the price model is set to Per Unit,\n then enter the price unit in this field. For example, license or\n subscription.
PriceIf the price model is set to Fixed,\n then enter the price in this field. Be sure to enter the\n currency symbol as well (for example, $ for United States\n dollar).
Unit descriptionIf the price model is set to Per Unit,\n then use this field to describe what is included in the unit.
The following fields appear\n conditionally according to the cost source selected in Service Portfolio Management. These fields are enabled\n as part of the financial optional plugin for Service Portfolio Management. For financial\n information, the required plugin is\n com.snc.financial_management_for_spm. For estimate spend\n information, the required plugin is com.snc.spm.spend. Both\n plugins require ITSM Pro SKU.
Cost modelThe cost model that determines how the estimated spend will\n be calculated.
Offering costIf the cost model is set to Fixed,\n then the cost should represent the estimated cost of the\n offering per time period.
Time periodInterval that you want to track the estimated spend\n (day, month,\n quarter,\n year).
Cost UnitIf the cost model is set to Per unit,\n the cost should represent the cost per unit.
Units per periodThe number of units per period.
Estimated spendThe estimated spend for this item.
