The Allegheny County medical office identified the person who was killed as Qadree Berry, 28. A spokesman said the incident occurred shortly before midnight outside a building in the 500 block of Price Avenue. An autopsy determined that Mr. Berry died of a gunshot wound to the chest. Suspect surrenders in case of remains found in barrel A Blairsville man surrendered to police in connection with the discovery last month of a body in a barrel in Indiana County.

Police said Jon Anthony Black, 32, has been charged with one count of criminal homicide. He turned himself in Saturday to police in Danville, W.Va., and is being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail in Holden, W.Va. The barrel was discovered by dive teams Aug. 31 as part of an investigation into a series of thefts. It was in the Conemaugh River in Burrell, near Blairsville.

Horne was a graduate of Asheville Normal Teachers College, Asheville, NC and taught school in the Asheville area before moving to Maryville, TN in 1943 to work for Alcoa Aluminum during the war effort. While working at Alcoa, she met her future husband, John Horne. In 1958, they moved to Pittsburgh, PA where she resided until her death. Mrs. Horne was a member of the Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, PA where she enjoyed golfing and volunteering during PGA tournaments.

She also enjoyed painting, working with flowers, and taking care of her cat, Baby Doll. Mrs. Horne is survived by three nieces, Faye Harrington, of Hendersonville, NC, Juanita Williams, of Hendersonville, NC, and Judy Griffin, of St. Louis, MO; a nephew, Jimmy Griffin, of Charlotte, NC and a sister-in-law, Dollie Griffin, of St. Louis, MO.
